I saw a clip of Bush addressing the financial crisis wearing a green tie tonight. I can’t ever remember seeing him wear a green one, which is why it stood out. Bush likes an all-American red power tie. Which led me to wonder WHY a green tie? Was it as simplistic as sending a message of “money”? Did he think to himself “We’re going out to discuss money today, so it’s only appropriate to wear a green tie.” Or is he wearing the opposite of a red power tie to make another statement: “I’m a lame duck President. I can’t help you people. You should be looking to the other two guys wearing red ties for an answer.” It’s such an odd happening that it makes you wonder what psychology is involved.
